Founded in 1988, Simms Machinery International has experienced nearly 30 years of success in

providing support for boil-off gas compressors, steam turbines, and liquefaction units aboard 

LNG Tankers. Our services include engineering, redesign, project management, spare parts, 

technical service, and troubleshooting.

As the exclusive service provider for the gas compressors aboard the seven B-Class ships operated by Shell 

Trading and Shipping Co. throughout the 1990s, SMI serviced these compressors in-house, as well as aboard 

the ships during scheduled refits, manufactured and performed quality control for the spare parts, and managed 

a local inventory of spares to guarantee the ships were always prepared for emergency and scheduled 

overhauls. 

Since that time, we have consistently grown the number of vessels and clients serviced due to our attention to 

quality spare parts, cost efficient approach to overhauls and parts recommendations, and qualified service 

technicians. We treat every service trip as proof of our continued dedication t
