STENA SAGA
Pearl of Scandinavia (Pearl Seaways). The fist day in drydock at Fayard (Lindoe) Shipyard. As seen on the image she still has her old colors and in the next few days this will change. Also the interior undergoes a major change as most of the tiles in the hallways are changed with carpets and almost all resturants onboard are freshed up. Also she gets fitted with a new pair of screws and in the engine department the toilet-system and the computersystem is renewed. On the cardeck a brand new hange
Fayard Shipyard - Pearl´s new screws mounted. The screws are prototype and are expected to give at least a 9% reduction in average fuelconsumption. As seen on the image the rudder has been fitted with a cone-like structure which adds to the fuelconsumtion reduction as this convex construction nicely fits the concave peace on the end of the screw-axle (there is a freespace of exactly 7mm between the two parts). The screwblades are made of bronze-alloy and the axlepart is made of stainless steel
