DCT Shipping started operating in april 2007, on the island of curacao, the Netherlands Antilles. The booming of tourism in the Caribbean region and the corresponding flourishing of the construction business was triggering an increasing demand in building materials around the region.

The existing shortages in construction materials in the Caribbean area formed a great opportunity for the startup of a company in the shipping of building materials.
