The Chilean Directorate General of Maritime Territory and Merchant Marine (DIRECTEMAR), is the high-level body of the Navy whose mission, precautionary compliance with laws and international agreements, is providing safety of navigation , protecting human life at sea, preserving aquatic environment , natural marine resources and oversee the activities carried out in the maritime area under its jurisdiction, with the aim of contributing to the maritime development of the nation.

Regulates the activities and caution compliance with homeland legislation and international agreements.
